In order to qualify for the A+ Schools Program, a student must:

  1. have an A+ application on file in the A+ Coordinator's office
  2. attend an A+ designated school for the three consecutive years immediately prior to graduation
  3. graduate with at least a 2.5 G.P.A. on 4.0 scale
  4. graduate with a 95% attendance rate
  5. perform 50 hours of unpaid on-on-one academic tutoring
  6. maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the use and/or possession of illegal drugs and/or alcohol and/or related paraphernalia
  7. meet the district's ACT requirement

In order to receive A+ funds from the state, the following must also be completed:

  1. make a good faith, documented effort to obtain federal financial aid that does not require repayment
  2. provide the student's social security number and full name (including middle)
  3. have documentation of registration with Selective Service if required by law to do so

All requirements must be met, documented and submitted to the A+ Coordinator by the 2nd Friday in May of the student's senior year.

It is the responsibility of the student to continue to meet the requirements necessary to be certified as an A+ student upon graduation.


The A+ Program may provide these educational incentives: 1) provided state funds are appropriated by the legislature or 2) subject to state funding approval. Funding is not the responsibility of the Ferguson Florissant School District.
