The Discovery team is a combination of English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Reading/Writing teachers. Our strength lies in having teaching experience and flexibility in order to work together for the success of the students in our classes. Meet the Team Our math teacher has more than 10 years experience at Cross Keys. She is certified to teach Spanish and has an excellent science background. Our science teacher has been teaching for 20 years. She has taught Life, Earth and Physical Science in both seventh and eighth grades. She has a master's degree in Computer Education, so expect to use computers in Science class. Our social studies teacher has an excellent math background. Our English teacher, who comes to us from Hazelwood West, is enthusiastic about working with our students. Finally, our Reading/Writing Workshop teacher is new to our building, but comes with a wealth of experience with at-risk students. He will be working to develop a drama program for students.   Philosophy Student learning styles are accommodated through activities like skits, plays/dramas, puzzles, games, all kinds of projects, labs, computer activities and visuals, as well as traditional learning activities.   Supplies you'll need to succeed: 5 -pocket folders (one for each class) 5 -spiral or wireless notebooks 1 -scientific calculator (for Math) lots of loose leaf paper lots of pencils pens colored pencils   Expectations are simple: Be prepared Be on time Respect people & property No coats, book bags or food in class Coats and book bags create safety hazards.
