Our History
Cross Keys Middle School is located
in Florissant, Missouri, a suburb of 51,000 people in North St.
Louis County. Florissant was established in 1786 by French Canadians
and is the largest municipality in the St. Louis metropolitan
area. The Ferguson-Florissant School District encompasses all
or part of 10 municipalities and portions of unincorporated St.
Louis County. Overall, the District represents a population of
approximately 84,000 residents over 92 square miles.
Cross Keys is one of three middle schools
in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. Established in 1968
as a three-year junior high school, Cross Keys is now a seventh-
and eighth-grade middle school with 675 students.
Cross Keys uses an integrated curriculum
and divides students among six academic teams: Cardinals and
Discovery are our seventh-grade teams, No Limits and Explorers
are eighth-grade teams, and Firecrackers and Young & Restless
are two-year teams. We offer electives in the Allied Arts and
music.
Cross Keys Middle School has been recognized
on the local, state and national level for academic achievement
and our 60 staff members and administrators are proud of our
students and their accomplishments.
