    TutorMe Tutoring Program

     

    Ferguson-Florissant School District has partnered with TutorMe, an online tutoring platform that allows students in grades 3-12 to have 24/7 access to virtual tutoring services for help in any subject. Students can connect with a live tutor 24 hours a day in over 300 subjects to get support in current classes from a subject-level expert, right from home. Also, students can submit a paper in TutorMe's Writing Lab and receive detailed feedback in less than 12 hours. To access TutorMe, sign in to Clever and select 'TutorMe.' Best of all, these services are no charge for families. It is provided by the District for any FFSD student.

    What is TutorMe?

    TutorMe provides virtual tutoring opportunities for middle and high school students on virtually any topic. Tutors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for assistance.

    How do students get tutoring assistance?

    Students can access TutorMe using the Canvas portal. 

    How do students log in?

    To access TutorMe, students can log in to Canvas and tap, "TutorMe." 

    How can students connect with a live tutor?

    Students can log in by using Canvas. When they have clicked on the TutorMe app, students can choose the green button that indicates “Connect with a Live Tutor” or “Writing Lab: Get Writing Help.” Most students will want to connect with a live tutor. Once they have clicked that connection, they will be asked to type a subject into the search bar. High school students can simply type in the subject they need help with - ‘calculus’ or ‘US history,’ for example. Elementary and middle school students can begin their search with the words ‘middle school’ or ‘elementary' and a list of subjects will come up. 

     

    Are the tutors FFSD employees?

    They are not. The TutorMe network features thousands of tutors who are experts in their subject fields. Tutors must go through an extensive background check.

    What can students request assistance for?

    Everything!  Need help with a math question? Tutors can support. Need essay feedback? Tutors can support. Preparing for an exam? Tutors can support.

     Do students need to be on camera to receive tutoring support?

    Students decide. While video tutoring sessions are available, so too are audio chats and text-based chats.

    How do students get assistance with writing reports and essays?

    The TutorMe Writing Lab is accessible to students 24/7. More details about how to upload documents to the lab are available in the video below.

    Are there best practices for getting optimal TutorMe support?

    Yes! Make sure you are using the Chrome browser. After signing in, be specific in the support needed, home questions, test review questions, and essay/research paper support. It is also helpful to use your first language along with the problem you are trying to solve. TutorMe is also available in multiple languages. 

    Does TutorMe help with Advanced Placement and/or Dual Enrollment courses at the high school level?

    Yes! TutorMe tutors are available to support students in most subjects and at any level.
