Dr. Pamela Burroughs

Dr. Burroughs's career in education has spanned over 20 years, where she has had the pleasure of working as a classroom teacher, an instructional coach, and an assistant principal.   She is passionate about providing a well-rounded education that prepares our students for success in all aspects of life.  She believes in collaborative, data-driven decision making, coming from a stance of support, and establishing a positive, student-centered environment.  She believes that every child deserves a high-quality education, and is committed to ensuring that our school provides just that.  She values people as the most influential players in a child’s education.  Dr. Burroughs is excited to collaborate with the dedicated educators, supportive families, and eager students of Duchesne Primary to create an environment that fosters growth, development, and achievement.  

She holds a doctorate in school leadership from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. She also has a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree from Central Methodist University.

Dr. Teonna Walker

Instructional Support Leader

As she goes into her 13th year in education, Dr. Teonna Walker is most excited for the opportunity this position gives her to still be in the classroom as well as plan, co-teach and implement strategies for student success alongside colleagues. Since teaching in FFSD, she has had the chance to be a part of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) and Professional Learning Community (PLC) teams at Duchesne Primary School. Her goal this year is to be a catalyst for collaboration and growth within this role.  

 
Dr. Walker is a graduate of Maryville University with a Doctorate of Education degree in School Leadership and a Masters in Special Education.  She also holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, Missouri.  Dr. Walker has served the Ferguson-Florissant School District since 2017.  She has held the positions as a reading specialist, 1st grade, and 2nd grade teacher at Johnson-Wabash and Commons Lane.  She began her teaching career in 2012 at Confluence Academy Old North.
