Success-Ready Students Continuous Improvement SystemÂ
Ferguson-Florissant School District is committed to ensuring every student achieves their full potential. To support this mission, we utilize a real-time dashboard that monitors essential data on student progress, combining both measurable outcomes and meaningful observations. This tool empowers families, educators, and community members with clear, up-to-date information on how we nurture student growth and prepare learners for future success.
In collaboration with districts across Missouri, we’ve adopted innovative growth-based assessments that replace traditional exams like the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). These assessments, administered throughout the school year, offer continuous insight into student learning, providing a more accurate picture of academic development.
Our goal is to maintain transparency and keep all stakeholders informed so that every student receives the resources and support necessary to be ready for college, career, and life beyond graduation.
High School Readiness
High School Readiness reflects how well-prepared students are to succeed in grades 9 through 12. Our goal is to ensure every student enters high school confident and equipped with the skills to excel.
To monitor student progress and instructional impact, Ferguson-Florissant uses Renaissance’s Star Assessment suite—state-approved interim assessments that provide timely insights into student learning. These tools offer a clear picture of where students are academically and how much growth they’ve made. This information helps students track their own progress and guides teachers in designing lessons that address individual needs.
Since 2023, we have utilized the Star Assessments to regularly evaluate student performance in key subjects like English Language Arts (ELA) and Math for grades 3 through 8. To see how our students are progressing, visit our dashboard and explore their results by clicking the icons below.
College, Career, and Workplace Readiness
At Ferguson-Florissant Schools, we empower students to take ownership of their futures through an Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP). This personalized plan helps students set meaningful goals and develop a College, Career, and Workplace Readiness (CCWR) portfolio that highlights their preparedness for whatever path they choose after high school.
Through their ICAP, students earn valuable experiences and skills by obtaining certifications, completing assessments, and demonstrating mastery in their coursework. These experiences, known as Market Value Assets (MVAs), are essential in building readiness for life beyond graduation. The more students engage with these opportunities, the better prepared they’ll be for success in college, careers, and the workplace.
