    ORGANIZATION

    Data Binder includes daily attendance and behavior chart, Star Reading and Math data, Homework Planner pages, Home Reading Log, Reading Log and Behavior Expectations.

     

    READING WORKSHOP-Making Meaning Program

    Incorporates small group reading, independent reading, reading response journals and word work to improve reading comprehension and vocabulary skills.

     

    WRITING WORKSHOP

    Students will learn strategies to become proficient in writing narrative, argumentative and informative essays.

     

    MATH

    The math curriculum offers technology and hands on resources for extra practice on mathematical skills and strategies in solving equations with variables, evaluating expressions, geometry, statistics and probability, ratio and proportions and number systems.




    SOCIAL STUDIES

    US and World Geography, Ancient Civilizations(China, Egypt etc.), Government and Economics

     

    SCIENCE

    Life Science-Scientific Inquiry, Science Fair Procedures, Cells, Genetics, Natural Resources and the Human Body

     

    FIELD TRIPS

    Humane Society, Little Creek, St. Louis University, Holocaust Museum, Great Skate STEM project, Florissant Civic Center,

     

    HOMEWORK

    All students are expected to complete assignments listed on the Homework Planner page in the data binder.  Homework will be given Monday through Thursday.
