Tim Ryan, communication arts teacher at McCluer North High School, has been named a 2025 Regional Teacher of the Year for the St. Louis region. He is one of ten educators selected by EducationPlus and the St. Louis Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) for the honor.

The award recognizes teachers who demonstrate excellence in classroom instruction and leadership in their schools and communities. With this recognition, Ryan is now eligible to apply for the Missouri State Teacher of the Year award.

Ryan began teaching in 1999 and has spent his career engaging students in courses such as American Literature, British Literature, Creative Writing, and IB/AP Literature. Beyond his classroom work, he serves as the English Department Chair, is a member of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), and leads McCluer North’s Boys Varsity Baseball team as head coach.

This recognition marks the fourth consecutive year that a teacher from the Ferguson-Florissant School District has been named a Regional Teacher of the Year.

Education Plus is expected to announce the finalists for Missouri State Teacher of the Year later this year.
