A Message to the Ferguson-Florissant Community Regarding the FFNEA Impasse Hearing

To our valued Ferguson-Florissant families, staff, and neighbors,

The Board of Education would like to extend its sincere gratitude to our community for your continued engagement and advocacy regarding the ongoing discussions with the Ferguson-Florissant National Education Association (FFNEA).

We want to begin by affirming how much we deeply appreciate the partnership between the District and our FFNEA team. Our educators and staff are the heartbeat of our schools, and their dedication to our students is the foundation of everything we achieve together.

We have clearly heard the feedback from our community members expressing a desire for the April 22 impasse hearing to be held in an open forum. We understand and respect the call for transparency, as we remain steadfastly committed to the trust of our community, our staff, and our students.

To provide clarity on the April 22 proceedings, the impasse hearing was held in closed session in accordance with Missouri law. Under state statutes, discussions involving active negotiations with a labor group are conducted privately to protect the integrity of the bargaining process. Because this remains an active negotiation with a specific work group, the legal framework requires these deliberations to remain confidential at this stage.

Please be assured that we are working diligently toward a resolution that supports our educators while ensuring the long-term stability and success of the District. We look forward to sharing more information with you as soon as this matter has been resolved and legal parameters allow for public disclosure.

Thank you for your patience, your passion, and your unwavering support of the Ferguson-Florissant School District.

Sincerely,

The Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education
