Halls Ferry Place Second in Scholar Bowl Competition
On Saturday, March 10, students from across the district gathered at the McCluer North High School Annex to compete in their annual All-District Competition, the Scholar Bowl. This year, students at Halls Ferry Elementary took second place! This event is an intellectual thinking competition where student teams from each elementary school compete against other schools through the following four unique academic events: mindbenders, the judge, target number, and strategizers. Awards are given to schools with the top collective scores and schools with best sportsmanship qualities in each quadrant.
Students worked hard together in teams to compete against other schools to make it to the final competition. Their challenges consisted of thinking puzzles, trivia questions, math fluency, and classic strategy games like Nine Men’s Morris and Mancala.
