Dr. Heather Carroll is the building principal of Holman Elementary School. Dr. Carroll was raised in Florissant, Missouri and attended school in the Hazelwood School District where she graduated from Hazelwood West High School. Upon graduation, Dr. Carroll attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. Dr. Carroll also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, as well as, an Education Specialist Degree in Leadership from Webster University. Dr. Carroll graduated from Maryville University in 2016 where she earned her Doctorate in Education Degree in Teacher Leadership.
Dr. Carroll began her career in the Ferguson-Florissant School District in 2005 as an instructional aide at Robinwood Elementary School. Later that school year, Dr. Carroll became a 4th grade teacher at Walnut Grove Elementary School. Dr. Carroll taught grades 2nd-4th while at Walnut Grove and then moved to Wedgwood Elementary School where she taught 5th and 6th grade. Dr. Carroll also held the Instructional Coach position for two years while at Wedgwood Elementary School where she supported and coached teachers in the classroom. In 2014, Dr. Carroll transitioned into an administrative role at Commons Lane Elementary School where she was the Administrative Intern until 2016. Dr. Carroll became the building principal of Commons Lane Elementary School and served in this role from 2016-2019. Dr. Carroll became the principal of Holman Elementary School in 2019.
Dr. Carroll is passionate about the education of young learners at Holman. As a long time educator in the Ferguson-Florissant School District, Dr. Carroll also has a passion for teacher leadership and facilitating the growth of those that work alongside her. Dr. Carroll also values the importance of equity within the school and district community and works with staff to provide a positive, caring environment that is focused on educating the whole child.
