• Dr. Apryll Mendez is the building principal of Holman Elementary School.  Dr. Mendez was raised in a military family and attended schools in Guam, Japan, and across the United States.  Upon graduation, Dr. Mendez attended Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education.  Dr. Mendez also holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership.  Dr. Mendez graduated from the University of Missouri- St. Louis in 2017 where she earned her Doctorate in Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

    Dr. Mendez began her career across the river in Mascoutah, Illinois before moving and teaching on the southside of Chicago.  She had experience as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal before joining the Holman family. 

    Dr. Mendez is passionate about the education of young learners at Holman.  She values the importance of equity and the power of a strong home-school connection.
