Dual Enrollment Application Process Overview

Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher may choose to enroll in classes at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley while still attending classes at Innovation. Please use the checklist below and meet with Mrs.Owens for more information.

These are the steps for applying for Dual Enrollment:
- 1a. Apply to St. Louis Community College:
- Be sure to use a personal email for registration instead of your fergflor.org one to ensure that communication from St. Louis Community College does not get lost in spam.
- The School Code for Innovation School at Cool Valley is 260020.
- Choose Dual Enrollment and Non-Degree Seeking
- After about 24-48 hours, you should receive an email from STLCC providing you with your A number and instructions on getting connected.
- 1b. If applicable: Apply for Emerson Stem Academy
- Any student with an interest in a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Math should apply. This program offers numerous benefits.CLICK HERE for more information.
- You will receive information about submitting recommendation forms and setting up an interview for entrance into the program.
- 2. Submit Dual Enrollment Authorization Forms:
- Before you can begin classes, you must submit a Dual Enrollment Authorization form to an STLCC campus Admissions and Enrollment Services office. This can be done through your registration portal.
- Click on VIEW next to ACTIONS REQUIRED by your existing registration listing
- Enter your parent/guardian's email address in the parent authorization request form
- Enter your counselor's name (Rose Owens) and email address (rowens@fergflor.org) in the School Authorization Request form. Or you can print and complete this form.
- Be sure to set up a meeting with Mrs. Owens to discuss your options before registering for classes.
- Before you can begin classes, you must submit a Dual Enrollment Authorization form to an STLCC campus Admissions and Enrollment Services office. This can be done through your registration portal.
- 3. Get Connected: Activate your MySTLCC username and email by entering your student number, last name and date of birth.
- 4. Login to Navigate - Use your MySTLCC email and password to login. Navigate will keep you updated on important deadlines, events and activities.
- 5. Send in your ACT scores or take a placement test - If you've taken your ACT, request that a copy of your scores is sent to STLCC-Registrar's office. If you don’t have an ACT/SAT score or it doesn’t meet our criteria, you can determine your best fit through tests at our Testing Centers.
- 6. Submit your transcript - To enroll as a high school student, you will need to submit a transcript to STLCC-Registrar's office. Mrs. Owens will help you with this!
- 7. Review the CORE 42 Catalog: CORE 42 is the general education framework that assigns a group of lower-division core curriculum course Missouri Transfer (MOTR) numbers and guarantees transferability to all public colleges and universities in Missouri. Review this catalog help choose which class(es) is/are right for you.
- 8. Check the Course Scheduler for class availability:
- Term: select the semester you will attend
- Location: Florissant Valley
- Tuesday/Thursday (TR) class availability
- Consider your transportation needs. If you need to ride the bus from Innovation, choose classes between 9:00-11:00.
- 9. Complete Archer Orientation and register for classes - Dual enrollment students must attend Archer Orientation. Archer Orientation consists of three steps – an informational presentation, academic advising, and registering for classes. You will start this process by viewing a series of Archer Orientation videos and completing the corresponding quizzes. This will be followed by a one-on-one academic advising session, and completed with registration for classes.
- Please note that Innovation can provide bus transportation to and from Florissant Valley ONLY between 8:45-11:00 am.
- 10. Get ready to be a college student! - Now that you’re officially a college student, watch your email for information on getting your books, getting your STLCC OneCard. Be sure to communicate with Mrs. Owens about your transportation needs so we can be sure to get you where you need to be.
