Dr. Iris McClendon

Interim Principal

Dr. Iris McClendon brings over 16 years of experience in education, with a deep commitment to supporting students, families, and staff. A proud product of the Ferguson-Florissant community, Dr. McClendon has dedicated much of her career to serving the very neighborhoods that shaped her.

She most recently served as an assistant principal at McCluer High School, and previously held the same role at Jennings Senior High. Prior to her work in school leadership, she spent five years as a high school counselor at McCluer and began her educational journey as a classroom teacher at Holman and Halls Ferry Elementary Schools in Ferguson-Florissant. She also taught at Imagine Academy of Environmental Science and Math and Webster Groves High School.

Dr. McClendon holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University, along with an educational specialist degree in administration and both her master’s in counseling and bachelor’s degree from Lindenwood University. She is also a graduate of the National Institute for Urban School Leaders at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Dr. Matt Mooney

 Assistant Principal - Class of 2026

Mooney brings 15 years of experience in education. He currently serves as an assistant principal at McCluer High School. Prior to this role, he was an instructional support leader at Cross Keys Middle and also served as an assistant principal in the Wright City School District. He began his career as a middle school math teacher, spending seven years in the Hazelwood School District.

He holds a doctorate in educational administration from Lindenwood University. He also holds a Master’s degree in school administration from Lindenwood University and a Master’s degree in teaching from Webster University. He has two bachelor’s degrees in history and education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Mr. David Aguilar

 Assistant Principal - Class of 2027

Aguilar has been in education for 11 years all in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. He currently serves as 9th Grade/Freshmen Academy Principal at McCluer. Prior to that role, he served as a science teacher at McCluer for nine years.

He holds a master’s degree from William Woods University. He has an educational specialist degree from Arkansas State University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

Mr. Kurtis Downing

 Assistant Principal - Class of 2028

Downing brings nearly 30 years of experience in education and leadership and has held key leadership roles in Ferguson-Florissant, including serving as interim principal at McCluer North and assistant principal at Ferguson Middle. Prior to those roles, he served 11 years as an assistant principal at McCluer High School. Prior to joining the District, he was principal at Atchison Alternative School in Atchison, Kansas, for four years. He also served as a teacher at St. Louis Public Schools for 12 years.

Downing holds an educational specialist degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University. He also holds a Master’s degree in educational administration and a Bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University.

Dr. Tracee Lewis

Assistant Principal - Class of 2029

Lewis recently served as an assistant principal at Johnson-Wabash 6th Grade Center. Prior to that role, she was an assistant principal at McCluer. She began her career in education at Berkeley High School in 1997, teaching English and alternative education. In 2002, she became a school guidance counselor at Berkeley Middle School. In 2005, she served as a counselor and department chair for the counseling department at McCluer North.

Lewis holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University. She holds a Master’s in educational administration and a Master’s in school and professional counseling, both from Lindenwood University. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education with an emphasis in English from Harris-Stowe State University.

Dr. Benjamin Eye

Director Athletics and Activities

Dr. Eye is a proud alumnus of Ferguson-Florissant School District and has served the Ferguson-Florissant School District since 2008. He brings a wealth of experience as an administrator. He has held previous secondary administrator positions, having served at McCluer North, McCluer South-Berkeley, including Johnson-Wabash, and Wedgwood 6th Grade Centers. He started his career as a classroom teacher at Ferguson Middle.

He holds a doctorate and an education specialist degree from Saint Louis University. He also has a Master’s in Education from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Ms. Angie Williams

SSD Area Coordinator

Williams grew up in Frostwood  and attended the Ferguson Florissant School District.  She is  a proud alumnus of Berkeley Sr High School. Prior to starting her career in special education, Ms Williams  served in the united States Army, where she had the opportunity to live and travel abroad.  Her most memorable experiences were her visit to Dachau Jewish Concentration Camp and East Berlin prior to the demise of the Berlin Wall in 1991.  

Ms. Williams’ teaching experience  focused on students receiving special education services in  kindergarten through 12th grade, until she was  promoted to an Area Coordinator in 2006.

Ms. Williams’ core belief is grounded in the African Proverbs, “It Takes A Whole Village to Raise A Child”,  which has allowed Ms. Williams to encourage all students to be successful.

Ms Williams currently holds her specialist degree in Education Leadership from Webster University. Ms Williams resides in Florissant.
