Ms. Linda Calhoun

Even though at the age of 5 I knew I wanted to be a teacher, when I graduated from high school I went to college and majored in journalism. I received my Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Lincoln Unversity, Jefferson City, MO.  Not satisfied with the journalism career I came to St. Louis and began working as a staff trainer at a social service agency. Still having a desire to teach, I decided to attend graduate school where I received my Master's Degree in Teaching from Webster University.  I am originally from Waukegan, IL but have been in St. Louis for over 20 years. I have one son who is a sophomore at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA.  My "why" for teaching is: I had inspiring teachers who believed in me. My parents and family taught me education was a must and the road to many opportunities. I believe in paying it forward because of the values instilled in me.
