Counseling Services
The School Counseling program is an integral piece of the overall educational process. School Counselors provide a comprehensive program that supports students’ academic, personal, social/emotional and career development. Growth and learning are developmental; therefore, guidance must be developmental and sequential. The need for guidance begins with pre-school entrance and continues throughout life.

Foster Care Services
The Ferguson-Florissant School District (FFSD) recognizes that students in foster care face unusual educational challenges. Our goal for foster care students is to provide educational stability and remove barriers in order to support academic excellence. Follow the link above for more information, resources, and enrollment.
-
Health Services
The Health Services Department provides many valuable services to students. Nurses and clinic aides provide care for students with numerous illnesses and medical conditions during the school day. The department also assists with decreasing absenteeism by keeping children healthy through screening, first aid, and health education.
-
School Social Work Services
School social workers serve as the link between students, families, and the school. They work with parents, guardians, teachers, and other school officials to eliminate barriers children may have to learning and attempt to ensure that students reach their academic and personal potential. They also assist students in dealing with stress or emotional problems. School social workers address problems such as misbehavior, truancy, and economic hardship and advise teachers on how to cope with difficult students while providing parents with resources.
-
There are a number of circumstances that can cause a family to become homeless, often times leading to a number of transitions for students. Don’t let your child miss school because of a circumstance where we might be able to help. Children who have extensive absences from school have higher drop-out rates, have a harder time catching up academically and are more likely to be retained. Our goal is to make sure that all students regardless of their living situation has the opportunity to receive a quality education.
