Dr. Aisha Grace

Dr. Aisha Grace was born in Kansas City, Missouri but has lived in St. Louis, Missouri for over 20 years. She began her career in education in 2001 as a 3rd grade teacher in St. Louis Public Schools.  During her tenure, Dr. Grace has also served as a 4th grade teacher, Title I Math Teacher, Title I Language Arts Teacher and began her first year as a Principal in 2008 and has served in the Ferguson Florissant School District since 2017.  Dr. Grace earned her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and her Doctorate from Maryville University. Dr. Grace has 1 daughter and enjoys spending time with her family!

Mrs. Carlisha Elam

Carlisha Elam is excited to join the Griffith family! She has been in education for over 10 years. She received her Bachelors of Arts from Southeast Missouri State University. She also received her Masters of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Elementary Education and Education Specialist degree in School Administration from Lindenwood University. Mrs. Elam is certified in Elementary 1-6, Special Reading K-12 and School Administration K-12.

Ferguson-Florissant School District holds a special place in her heart because she has held the roles of student teacher, teacher, Instructional Support Leader and assistant principal within the district. Mrs. Elam has experience as an Instructional Support Leader, classroom teacher 1-6 and Title 1 Interventionist. She is always eager to perfect her craft through professional development opportunities and continues to educate herself to be able to help others.

Mrs. Elam has a husband and 2 sons that often keep her busy. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and trying new things.

Mrs. Renetta Batteast

Mrs. Batteast is a proud native of St. Louis, Missouri with a Master’s degree in Teaching from Webster University.  Following graduation, she was hired by the Ferguson-Florissant School District, where she spent the last 15 years teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.  Batteast continued to further my education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University, as well as a Master’s degree in Reading from Webster University.  She holds K-8 Principal certification, K-12 special reading certification, as well as K-12 gifted education certification.

She is a mother of four beautiful children, and has been married for 23 years to her wonderful husband David. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending valuable time with family and friends. 

She is so excited to be part of the Griffith family! Mrs. Batteast looks forward to supporting her colleagues in promoting student success, and inspiring, developing, and nurturing the young minds here at Griffith Elementary.

Ms. Ashley Burkett

Ashley Burkett is our School Counselor and has been with the Ferguson-Florissant School District for six years. She previously worked at Cool Valley Elementary and Barack Obama Elementary School in the Normandy School District before coming to Griffith. Ms. Burkett has over nine years of experience as a School Counselor and has also published a children's book entitled, " I Love Me Some Me!" to address bullying and self-esteem. Last school year, she was recognized as the St. Louis Suburban School Counselor of the Year. Ms. Burkett received her undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University along with two graduate degrees from Lindenwood University in the areas of School Counseling and Character Education.
