My name is Antojuan Owens and this is my 17th year in education and my 11th year as a counselor. I have served as the counselor at Riverview Gardens and Normandy School Districts, working with students.
from Kdg-8th grade. I am excited about the opportunity to work with the students, families and staff at Commons School. I graduated from Hazelwood East High School where I participated in
football. I continued my playing career at Rochester Community College in Rochester, MN, where I was a scholar athlete and I finished my playing career at Langston University. I received my Master's degree in Professional and School Counseling from Lindenwood University.  Football not only paid for school, but it also taught me how to press on when times get hard. I am the former head coach of the Hazelwood East Middle School football team. In my spare time I enjoy writing, watching WWE wrestling, sports and spending time with my nieces, nephews and my family. My favorite snacks are gummi worms and bears and, of course, my favorite animal is the bear, because bears can do everything well. I enjoy working with students and helping them learn more about themselves. I look forward to a great year with the students, families, staff and the community of Commons Lane School as we grow and #IMPACTLIVES.

This school year we will discuss topics such as bullying, being drug free, careers, the importance of being a good student and friend,how to get along with our peers and much more.
