McCluer Student Serving on 2021-22 Federal Reserve Bank Student Board
Diana Espinoza, a member of McCluer class of 2022, was selected to the 2021-2022 Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis' Student Board of Directors. High school students from the greater St. Louis area are selected based on a rigorous scoring rubric, including an application, essay, and letters of recommendation.
Nominated by her AP Macroeconomics teacher, Espinoza will join a cohort of other high school students that will serve as ambassadors on the board of directors for the 2021-22 school year. "I am excited to branch out with other people and discuss what is going on in our economy," said Espinoza. "While taking AP Macroeconomics, I became intrigued in economics and how banking systems work with the financial economy."
While serving on the board, students gain a thorough understanding of the Federal Reserve's role in the US economy and get first-hand experience to see how partnerships with banks, businesses, and the community work.
After completing the yearlong program, Diana will have the opportunity to apply for a summer internship at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
